German brewery claims anti aging beer is just as bad as booze.

Wine, booze and beer have been linked with various health problems, including high blood pressure and diabetes. The latest research into the effects of different alcoholic beverages suggests there may be something else to the drinking habits: anti aging.

A new study published in the German Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics suggests that as strong an alcohol as 1.7 percent or more in an alcoholic beverage can reduce lifespan, lifespan extension, cancer cell proliferation and senescence.

Researchers analyzed results from seven decades of animal research on aging.

They found anti aging alcohol had no impact on the growth and metabolism of mice. They also found that the drug was no longer useful to mice that had been living on a normal diet for the majority of their lives.

„Aging is one of the major sources of health problems in humans. Some older people are even in danger of dying because of it,“ explains Dr. Stephan Bogaert, researcher at the Institute for Biomedical and Social Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

The anti aging drug could prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, Bogaert explained, by boosting a person’s immune function.

„Our evidence suggests that we couljarvees.comd extend the life span through an increase in immune system function. And thus we could prevent Alzheimer’s Disease,“ Bogaert continued.

The findings provide clues that alcohol could have other health effects, too.
